Sock puppet daydream

Sock puppet daydream

This morning I interviewed a sock puppet and its ‘owner’, Kev F.

Kev’s bringing his comedy act, The Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre, to Woodend Barn, Banchory, and the interview was for the regular Woodend Barn podcast (which gets posted to the Woodend Barn Facebook page).

I had wanted to do a Skype video interview featuring Kev’s sock and a sock of my own, but Kev was unable to get a Skype account in time so we did the audio interview instead.

And while I was putting everything together onto the video timeline (we add our podcasts to an image, render them as video and then store them on our YouTube channel) I thought I’d make my own sock puppet. And that’s where a large part of my day went…making a puppet. (If the Woodend Barn administrator reads this – don’t worry, I’m not claiming for it!)

The main photo above is my attempt at a sock puppet. Below are the first two incarnations – which look slightly sinister, I think. And then there’s the publicity photo for the Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre. Watch the YouTube video podcast and you’ll catch sight of him – his name’s Woody, the Woodend Barn podcaster.
