Copyright

I am a believer in the principles of Creative Commons.

This organisation seeks to overcome the limitations of existing copyright legislation, in order to foster the exchange of information and enable creative expression:

The Creative Commons copyright licenses and tools forge a balance inside the traditional “all rights reserved” setting that copyright law creates. Our tools give everyone from individual creators to large companies and institutions a simple, standardized way to grant copyright permissions to their creative work. The combination of our tools and our users is a vast and growing digital commons, a pool of content that can be copied, distributed, edited, remixed, and built upon, all within the boundaries of copyright law.

I believe it’s important that as much web content as possible can be shared, mixed, edited and so on, by people for creative and intellectual purposes.  Why is that important? Well, we learn so much and develop culturally and socially through innovation, and since so much data and activity is now online, we have to provide guidelines and structures which enable growth on these new platforms.

All my content is licensed by Creative Common

So, I have licensed all the content on my site with the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported License. This enables anyone, for private or commercial purposes, to use, mix, adapt etc any of my work, as long as they credit me appropriately:

This license lets others distribute, remix, tweak, and build upon your work, even commercially, as long as they credit you for the original creation. This is the most accommodating of licenses offered. Recommended for maximum dissemination and use of licensed materials.

Likewise, all the text, images, video, audio and music is created by me, otherwise it’s created by others and used under the terms of an appropriate Creative Commons License ( in which I credit people for images, for example, or attribute comments to authors).
